Beyond the Workshop

Booster Webinars Annual Renewal Complete the Workplace Practice Task Attend ASQ-TRAK Practitioner Training Certified ASQ-TRAK Practitioner

Join the ASQ-TRAK Education Program webinar series as we build confidence and learn together about using ASQ-TRAK in culturally responsive ways.

Exclusive for certified ASQ-TRAK Practitioners, these webinar series is designed as a practical and responsive extension to the ASQ-TRAK Practitioner Workshop, informed by feedback and the experiences of practitioners, families and communities. Rather than repeating the core workshop content, the webinars create opportunities to deepen confidence, reflect on practice and explore the complexities that arise when using ASQ-TRAK in real-world settings.

Across four streams, we’ll explore practice through case discussions, practitioner stories, community-led learning and shared reflection. Aboriginal practitioners, families and community representatives are recognised as knowledge holders and partners in this learning.

The topics are across four streams:

  1. Practical Skills - Improving confidence using ASQ-TRAK
  2. Communication & Cultural Decisions - Working effectively with families and communities
  3. Clinical Decision Making - Interpretation, referrals and child development
  4. Implementation & Sustainability - Embedding ASQ-TRAK into services

The series also creates space to reflect about what is working well, the challenges practitioners encounter, and the questions or concerns that matter to them. Together, we can strengthen practice, build confidence and support culturally responsive developmental screening that reflects the strengths, experiences and contexts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

Practical Skills Stream | Complex Scoring and Practice Decisions Webinar

How do we make thoughtful practice decisions when caregiver responses and practitioner observations don’t always align? This webinar explores the complexities of interpreting ASQ-TRAK results, including how opportunity, familiarity, environment and language can influence a child’s demonstrated skills. Together, we’ll consider how to avoid deficit-based interpretations, look beyond a single score or interaction, and recognise when it may be appropriate to pause, seek cultural guidance or involve a cultural support person.

Hosted by Danielle Cameron, Yuibera woman from the Yuwi nation and ASQ-TRAK Facilitator.
